A Brand Manager manages every aspect of a brand, from consumer research to developing and testing new products and their packaging. S/he ensures that this specific brand evolves in the right direction.

What are consumers thinking? That is the question that we all ask ourselves, so that we can respond to market needs to the best of our ability. For example, we have an idea for a new product. We use qualitative research to better understand the market for this new product and how consumers will deal with it. Based on these data, we will fine-tune the concept in collaboration with R&D and packaging. This is followed by a quantitative analysis to assess the potential of a new launch. Finally, we work with Sales to bring this product to market.

A nice aspect of this job is that it is varied. Sometimes I do more technical work, sometimes I focus on communication or creative aspects or even analyze figures. I work with a number of partners, in-house and external: communication agencies, market research consultancies, media agencies, etc.

I have already followed training courses in people management, languages and computer programmes. Of course, you are expected to deliver the results too!
