To ensure that everything is up and running again
as soon as possible Christel, Operator
An operator is in charge of operating the machinery. The process is as follows on ‘my’ production line: the jars are placed on a conveyor belt and automatically filled, covered and labelled and then packed in lots of six or twelve jars. Then they go to the stacking machine.
My job mainly entails keeping an overview. If the machine is blocked, I intervene. It goes without saying that I can ensure that they hardly ever stall because I have worked with these machines for several years and known them inside out. When they do stall however, the challenge is to ensure that everything is up and running again as soon as possible. My job is easy when things are going as they should.
I have been working at the Campbell’s factory for twenty years and I have seen every possible machine and technical procedure. At the time, when I started out, we used to produce 3,000 pots per hour. Now we produce 20,000 and I have helped achieve this. I feel good when I see a pot or squeeze bottle of Devos Lemmens in a store because I have contributed to getting it there.
